Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how MJL Advisors, Inc uses cookies and similar technologies on the Longpoint product and website. It supplements the Privacy Policy. Effective date: 2026-05-08.

What is a cookie

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. Cookies remember things like your sign-in session and your preferences. Some are deleted when you close your browser (“session cookies”); others persist across visits (“persistent cookies”). We also describe similar technologies (local storage, session storage, pixels) under the same headings.

Tiers we use

We organize cookies into three tiers. The first is set automatically; the others require your consent.

Strictly necessary. Required for the product to function: authentication session, anti-CSRF token, load-balancer routing, payment provider session at Checkout. These cannot be turned off without breaking the workspace. Examples: __session, __client_uat, cf_clearance, Stripe __stripe_mid.

Preferences. Remember the way you have set the product up: locale, theme, the dismissal of the cookie banner itself. Off by default; we set these only after you click “Accept analytics” or otherwise confirm preference cookies. Examples: longpoint:cookie-consent, lp.locale, lp.theme.

Analytics. Aggregate, pseudonymous metrics about which pages are slow, which features are used, which links are clicked. Off by default. Set only after you opt in via the cookie banner or in Account → Privacy. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. Examples: a self-hosted analytics cookie (e.g. _pa).

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We respect both the Do Not Track request header and the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends either, we will not enable analytics cookies, even if you separately clicked “Accept analytics” by mistake.

How long cookies last

Strictly necessary cookies typically expire when you close the browser or sign out, with a few exceptions for security and abuse prevention (up to thirty days). Preference cookies persist for up to twelve months. Analytics cookies persist for up to thirteen months.

How to opt out

You can change your cookie choice at any time. The cookie banner re-appears via a “Cookies” link in the footer. You can also clear cookies in your browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from staying signed in.

Third-party cookies

Some cookies set during your session originate from our processors: authentication (Clerk), payments (Stripe at Checkout). Their use of cookies is governed by their own privacy notices, which apply at the moment the third-party page is shown to you. We do not allow third-party advertising networks to set cookies on Longpoint.

Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy as we change the product or our processors; the latest version always governs.
